IOA has a legacy of service excellence and a diverse portfolio of commercial, personal, and niche insurance products. It sought to showcase them in a modern, scalable digital presence that reflected its growth and commitment to client-centric service. This last ambition was central. IOA’s producers enjoy personal client relationships and insisted on a website that complemented and enhanced that crucial rapport.

Given the scale and complexity of the work, the team chose WordPress as the core platform, leveraging its flexibility, scalability, and extensive plugin ecosystem. Throughout the project, Big+Bold maintained a close collaborative relationship with IOA’s IT, marketing, and leadership teams, ensuring the final site reflected IOA’s strategic goals.
Our approach
The project included a comprehensive content overhaul, rewriting dozens of pages covering business insurance coverages, industries, and employee benefits. This content work included extensive keyword research, metadata optimisation, and tone refinement to improve search visibility and user engagement. The new site also introduced advanced technical features, such as FacetWP for broker search, dynamic breadcrumb navigation, and interactive elements like hero videos and infographics, creating a polished, engaging user journey.
IOA needed to host the site internally within their existing Azure environment, an approach that offered greater control over security, which was critical for IOA’s clients, but required their IT team to create a virtual environment to support the WordPress installation. This contingency introduced challenges, including SSL certificate management, server configurations, and DNS updates. We worked closely with IOA’s IT team to navigate these shoals.
Big+Bold provided ongoing post-launch support, addressing bug fixes and performance enhancements to ensure the site met IOA’s high functionality and user experience standards.

The final website delivered a modern, scalable platform that effectively communicates IOA’s brand values while supporting its diverse service offerings.
