Bitesized learning

Transitioning from primary to secondary school can be stress-inducing for young children. BBC Bitesize NI recognised their fears and worked with us to create a series of cartoons to reassure them. The challenge was to produce videos that resonated with youngsters, sensitively addressed their concerns, and offered genuine solutions.

We collaborated with BBC Bitesize NI to involve real experts—the year eight pupils who had recently made the transition themselves. We visited schools across Northern Ireland and delved into their worries and coping strategies, collecting their advice and insights.

These candid conversations became the backbone of our animations—their voices narrated our cartoons. Our animated classroom featured student and teacher characters, adding layers of humour and relatability.

The final animated shorts successfully addressed the students’ concerns about transitioning to secondary school. The feedback was clear: the videos gave pupils the confidence that everything would be alright in their journey from primary to secondary school.
