Chris Bryson

Financial Director

Chris Bryson is the Financial Director at Big+Bold, where he oversees strategic financial management and budgeting to ensure efficient operations and high-quality financial solutions. With a distinguished career spanning various sectors, including consulting, construction, manufacturing, and advertising, Chris brings a wealth of experience and a keen understanding of complex financial operations. 

 

Before cofounding Big+Bold, Chris held significant roles, such as Financial Controller at McCann Dublin and AV Browne, where he managed financial operations and developed strategic financial plans. His extensive experience includes a 14-year tenure at Carvill Group, where he was pivotal in raising finance for site purchases and developments and managing financial operations at Moore Concrete. 

 

Chris holds a BA Hons in Accounting from the University of Ulster and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Queen’s University Belfast. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Chris’s financial management, strategic planning, and budgeting expertise make him an invaluable asset to Big+Bold and its clients.

Colm Laverty is the Content Director at Big+Bold, bringing his extensive experience as a filmmaker, photographer, and musician to the team. Rooted in Northern Ireland’s vibrant arts scene, Colm has collaborated with prestigious organisations such as BBC Radio Ulster, Northern Ireland Screen, and Warner Music Ireland.

 

Collaborating frequently with Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive, Colm has helped produce an array of acclaimed non-fiction shorts which utilise a wealth of vibrant archive footage to explore local heritage and forgotten stories. He is also the director of a new documentary, “The Bannfoot Ferry” (2024), which delves into a lost piece of early broadcasting history through Ulster Television’s film archives. 

 

Before Big+Bold, Colm was a Senior Content Creator at AVB Group and a freelance filmmaker and photographer for over a decade. His work spans music videos, short films, documentaries, and concert photography, capturing high-profile acts like Beck, Johnny Marr and St. Vincent. His versatile skill set includes video directing, motion graphics and sound design, making him a vital asset in delivering high-quality visual content. His experience spans developing creative design solutions for corporate publications, marketing materials, and branded displays. Conor’s ability to deliver high-quality visual content ensures that his designs effectively communicate and resonate with target audiences.  Conor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Illustration from Ulster University. David Nurse is the Founder and current Managing Director of Big+Bold, bringing over 16 years of experience in leadership, strategy, and digital innovation. His professional journey includes pivotal roles at AV Browne and McCann Worldgroup, where he led the development of award-winning holistic campaigns for local and global clients. David’s expertise spans business leadership, strategic planning, and digital direction, making him a key driver of client brands and campaigns as well as our business growth. He has led projects and accounts with Microsoft, Deloitte, UK Government, BT, BBC, Insurance Office of America, Zenith and Zurich. David is also the founder of the all-Ireland creative network IRENE.  

 

Before founding Big+Bold, David served as Group Deputy Managing Director of AV Browne and Deputy Managing Director of McCann Ireland. His strategic understanding and ability to deliver impactful marketing solutions have been recognised with several awards from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Before co-founding Big+Bold, Dearbhla worked as a Strategic Planner and Project Manager at AV Browne, where she developed and managed Brand and Communications campaigns for a diverse sector of clients. She also worked as a Marketing Executive and Project Manager at Action Renewables, leading digital communications on a number of INTEREG projects, included HANDIHEAT and other renewable energy projects. Her early experiences include work in the legal field in Florida, USA, and Northern Ireland.
