National Cyber Security Centre Annual Review 2025
We partnered with the National Cyber Security Centre to create their 2025 Annual Review and accompanying launch campaign.
About the project
Big+Bold partnered with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to deliver the 2025 Annual Review — a flagship publication setting out the scale, complexity, and impact of cyber threats facing the UK, and the work being done nationally to counter them.
The Annual Review plays a critical role in demonstrating leadership, accountability, and readiness across government, industry, and the public sector. It needed to communicate authority and urgency while remaining clear, accessible, and grounded in evidence.
Action
We worked closely with NCSC stakeholders to design and deliver the Annual Review as a leadership-focused publication, supported by a consistent suite of launch assets.
The design approach was editorial and restrained, prioritising clarity, hierarchy, and readability over visual excess. Typography, layout, and pacing were carefully considered to ensure the Review felt authoritative and usable for senior audiences.
Accessibility was embedded from the outset. We designed the Review to exceed minimum standards through considered type sizes, spacing, contrast, and structure, ensuring it functioned effectively as both a printed document and an accessible digital PDF.
Alongside the core publication, we extended the design system into a launch film and a series of short-form social assets. These translated key messages and statistics from the Review into clear, focused formats designed to broaden reach while maintaining consistency and credibility.
Throughout the process, we managed complex inputs, late-stage updates, and multiple review cycles, building a flexible system that could absorb change without undermining quality or coherence.
