Context

Bronagh, driven by her passion for baking and cooking, transitioned from her career as a registered theatre nurse to create a space and place where food lovers can slow down and come together to learn and rediscover the joy and craft in cooking with local, seasonal ingredients. 

 

Key Objectives

Bakehouse NI is a celebration of Bronagh’s passion for Irish cuisine and her love for traditional Irish recipes and her own family heritage. Through a variety of hands-on classes and demonstrations, Bronagh creates an immersive food tourism experience, where participants can connect with the authentic tastes of the region and create lasting memories around the table.

To further elevate the essence of Bakehouse NI, Bronagh partnered with Big+Bold to design a new recipe book and enhance her brand’s identity, to bring more cohesion and visibility to her business in a way that would continue to inspire and connect with her audience.

Action

Big+Bold began by refining Bakehouse NI’s visual identity, focusing on a logo that captures the heart of Bronagh’s brand. We selected a colour palette inspired by the natural, earthy tones of the Irish countryside, combined with classic and inviting typography to enhance the brand’s warm and welcoming feel.

 

The logo design merged traditional soda bread imagery with elements of Celtic culture, reflecting the authenticity and heritage of Bronagh’s culinary approach. We also developed versatile logo variations, ensuring the brand could maintain a consistent presence across different platforms, from social media and print materials to merchandise.

The centrepiece of the project was the design of a new recipe book, which celebrated Bronagh’s philosophy of using local, seasonal produce. The book featured a curated selection of her tried-and-tested family recipes, presented with beautiful food photography, clear instructions, and personal anecdotes. We crafted each page to guide readers through the recipes and tell the story of Bronagh’s journey and heritage, making the book a culinary guide and a narrative of tradition and community.

Bakhouse NI’s brand beautifully blends tradition with community, paving the way for continued growth and engagement.

Outcome

The rebranding project successfully strengthened Bakehouse NI’s visual identity, creating a more cohesive and recognisable brand presence.

 

The new logo and visual elements gave the business a distinct look that honours its roots while remaining approachable and modern. Meanwhile, the recipe book became a cherished addition for Bronagh’s students and followers, solidifying Bakehouse NI’s reputation as a beloved local culinary institution.
